Pedro Bernalte Sánchez and Fausto Pedro García Márquez have presented the article “𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒄𝒚𝒄𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑽𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒔” in the recent CIO 2021 (“Congreso de Ingenieria de Organización”).

The use of marine vehicles has been increasing in the last few years due to the marine industry growth. The advancements in the field of robotics and unmanned systems have made possible the development of marine autonomous vehicles. For these reasons, the production process and life cycle of these vehicles must be carefully studied in order to know the durability and associated cost of the vehicle performance.

15th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management (ICIEIM) – XXV Congreso de Ingeniería de Organización (CIO2021) took place on 8th to 9th of July 2021. The conference was a forum to disseminate, to all branches of academy and industry, information on the most recent and relevant research, theories, and practices in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The conference motto was: “Industry 4.0: The Power of Data”. The main objective was to promote links between researchers and practitioners from different branches and to enhance an interdisciplinary perspective of industrial engineering and management.
